Family first, always
The scoreboard fades. The people in your minivan don’t.
Our story
We’re Shane and Carlie, married since 2003 and raising five kids — three by birth and two adopted from Brazil. Between them we’ve done baseball and softball, volleyball, soccer, and karate, and Shane coached a lot of those teams himself. Two of our boys now play college baseball. So when we talk about early call times, long drives, hotel breakfasts, and tens of thousands of dollars — we’ve lived every bit of it.
For years we felt the same tension you probably feel: how do you go all-in on your kids’ sports without your family and your faith quietly getting steamrolled? Faith and church run deep for us — Carlie leads worship and serves in women’s Bible studies, and Shane serves as an elder — and even with all that, some seasons we still wrestled with it hard.
We don’t have it all figured out, and we’re not here to tell you you’re doing it wrong. We’re just a family a couple of seasons ahead of you, sharing the plays that helped us keep what matters most at the center — even on the road, even at 6 a.m., even when the tournament runs through Sunday morning.
